SOME OF MY FIRST ALASKA.
I recently came across these pictures that I took over 11 years ago in Alaska. I initially moved to Alaska to be close to my boyfriend. He and I were talking marriage, and well, I wasn’t
going to spend another minute living on my remote island in the Pacific (Hawaii) so far away…so I moved to a different remote island in the Pacific (Sitka) so I could be close to my soon
to be fiance. My first roommate was a fantastic girl, who truly embodied the Alaskan life in such a full sense. She was the daughter of a fisherman, and had spent a good deal of her life,
fishing, running, hunting, and baking amazing blueberry cobblers and rhubarb dishes…let’s just say, there’s not much she couldn’t do! When browsing through some of my old pictures, I came
across these fun images. We spent a late afternoon down by the dock, shooting into the fading light. These were taken with film and then scanned onto my computer.
